The training course which will focus on the prevention of violent radicalisation by promoting the use of critical thinking toward online violent content.
The training will take place in Oct 2020 in Greece.
The proposed project will focus on the prevention of violent radicalisation by promoting the use of critical thinking toward online violent content. The project will give young people the knowledge, strength and conviction to fight racism and extremism wherever it occurs and to aspire to a world free of it.
The general objective of the proposed project is to prevent vulnerable young people from starting a process of radicalisation by offering them resilience and critical thinking mechanisms. The project will address the need to prevent radicalisation by developing young peoples’ critical thinking and promoting the EU common values of freedom, tolerance, and non-discrimination.
The objectives are:
- To Increase knowledge on the subject of violent radicalisation & methodology for its prevention;
- to equip with appropriate capabilities- skills, knowledge, understanding and awareness, including practical tools and techniques for personal resilience;
- to increase critical thinking skills to appreciate different perspectives and come to own view
- to Raise awareness of the treats that social media tools have for youth at risk of radicalisation and how youth workers can use them to traverse the language barrier and to tackle the threat of online extremism
- to increase awareness of issues affecting refugees and migrants that make them vulnerable. Increase the competences and skills of youth workers, linked to their professional profile and a need of their organisations to address issues associated with European migration.
- Increase capacity of the participants and their organisations to operate at international level
