Nice to meet You. Tools to forget racism

INTRODUCTION
This is a period of massive arrivals of refugees groups running away from wars (like for example people coming from Syria and Somalia), or coming from countries in which conflicts are getting worst and more dangerous (Afghanistan or Iraq), or coming from dictatorship countries (like Eritrea).
That is why Europe needs to find efficient solution to give refugees an appropriate hospitality in order to respect Ginevra Convention of 1951.
In this context it seems necessary to engage youth and youth wotkers on these themes and to strength their knowledge of this complex problem., The youth and the youth worker could realize actions directed to remove the cultural gaps that precludes and slower the process of social integration of migrants. This aim will be realized through training activities and developing more informations.
SHORT DESCRIPTION
Nice to meet you actions are: Advange planning Visit -Youth exchange – Programme Countries and Mobility of youth workers.
The aim of the project is to train youth and youth workers on questions concerning refugees and asylum seekers. Furthermore one of the objective is to strength the knowledge and the tools to settle hospitality policies based on respect of human rights and solidarity and to struggle against racism in the territories involved.
Youth involved in the Exchange will work during the exchange to organize and promote a big event (workshop, videos, exhibition…) on refugees ‘ theme, cooperating with Arezzo’s SPRAR (the national system of protection of refugees and asylum seekers).
Youth workers will learn methods, techniques and tools to increase awareness of local community about needs of refugees, migrants and asylum seekers and to develop practices to struggle racism.
One of the techniques used will be the interactive travelling exhibition “Of Human race”,
The exhibition will be divided into three paths:
1. “History and stories” with a video that shows history and development of economic globalization, from the discovery of America until now, alsofollowing the path from race to racism
2. “Journey in the Prejudices”, in which participants simulates to be migrants in another country
3. “Reflections about racism”, where the mechanisms of prejudice and stereotype are analyzed
