Move To Connect

This training activity is an international youth exchange centered on movement therapy and somatic awareness–based approaches. The activity aims to enable youth workers, facilitators, and youth leaders working with young people to experience body-based methods, explore how these approaches can be applied within youth work practices, and engage in a meaningful intercultural learning process.

Throughout the program, participants will take part in workshops and practical sessions designed around movement, body awareness, group interaction, and non-verbal forms of expression. Through experiential activities, group processes, and shared reflection spaces, participants will deepen their individual learning while also developing new perspectives through collective exchange and interaction.

The training particularly focuses on how the body and movement can be used as powerful tools for expression and communication, especially in situations where young people may experience difficulties expressing themselves verbally. This approach creates a shared experiential space among participants from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, naturally fostering inclusive and meaningful intercultural interaction.

The program is structured to support participants in adapting the knowledge and experiences gained to their own youth work contexts. By the end of the activity, participants are expected to gain a foundational framework for using body-based methods with young people in a safe, ethical, and inclusive manner.

This activity does not constitute therapeutic or clinical training; rather, it offers an applied learning experience that explores the contribution of body-based approaches to well-being, awareness, and participant empowerment within the field of youth work.
