More Than a Siren – Building Inclusive Emergency Preparedness in Youth Work

We are preparing an Erasmus+ KA153-YOU Mobility of Youth Workers project entitled “More Than a Siren – Building Inclusive Emergency Preparedness in Youth Work.”

The project focuses on strengthening the competences of youth workers, educators, volunteers and support persons working with young people with disabilities or additional support needs. It responds to the need for more inclusive, accessible and person-centred approaches to emergency and disaster preparedness.

The planned international training course will last approximately 7 activity days and will combine non-formal learning, peer exchange, practical exercises and scenario-based activities. Participants will explore topics such as inclusive risk awareness, accessible communication, evacuation and support needs, psychosocial first support, volunteering and participation in emergency preparedness.

The project will also encourage participating organisations to reflect on how their own youth activities, facilities and procedures can become safer and more inclusive.

We are looking for active and complementary partners with experience in youth work, disability and inclusion, volunteering, emergency preparedness, search and rescue, community resilience, inclusive sports, education or related fields.

Partners should have a clear connection to young people, youth workers, volunteering or non-formal learning and should be willing to contribute to both project preparation and implementation.

We are particularly interested in cooperation with organisations from Greece, Italy, Romania, Croatia and Spain, bringing different experiences related to earthquakes, floods, wildfires and other emergency situations.

Previous Erasmus+ experience is welcome but not essential.
