Mega Farm

The Mega Farm project is set to combat unemployment and poverty with in the youth of Uganda,by providing them with jobs and agricultural skills so that they

In Uganda a total of 400,000 youth are released into the job market after graduating every year, they enter a market that has only 90,000 jobs, in brief, big numbers of graduates are entering a very small labor market, and most of them end up not being employed. Very few young people are actively involved in any socioeconomic activity and entrepreneurship is not yet fully adopted by various sectors of the society as a means of economically empowering the unemployed or the marginalized youths, and this has led to, poverty, crime, Increasing incidence of diseases, such as, the human immunodeficiency virus and the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS), and other threats to life, substance abuse and psychotropic substance addiction, smoking and alcoholism, Prevalence of debilitating disease, hunger and malnutrition that engulfs the life of many
The project is a three-fold strategy, in that it seeks to create a viable income generation project (mega farm), giving it an alternate way to support its daily activities and to improve the welfare of the Youth. The project will produce poultry products for sale and the proceeds will not only assist the organization to meet the basic necessities of life, but also reduce the financial costs the organization spends on empowering the target groups it has been proved that poultry products are a cheap source of the protein which is vital in maintaining the immune system of HIV positive persons for as long as possible. This will be a great help to some our members who are living with HIV.
Second, the project seeks to create employment opportunities to the youth so that they cater for themselves and to some extent their dependents. With respect to multiplier effect, the activities of this project will be scaled up by nonmembers. Or the project will be a model for future income generation projects within the community and will be replicated by the health and development organization and other indigenous Non-Government Organization too in other localities
