Venue: Romania - Sibiel, a lovely picturesque village near Sibiu.
Number of participants: 5 participants (4 + 1 group leader)
Age of the participants: 18-25 (no age limit for the group leader)
Starting date: August-September 2011
Funding: 100% for accommodation will be covered and 70% of travel cost will be reimbursed after receiving original receipts

Project Description:

Have you ever thought why so many youngsters are working nowadays as volunteers to organizations inside or even outside their home country? Why in some countries volunteering work is more focused on environmental issues, whilst in other countries people fight more for animal rights? And even why in some countries people do more (or less) volunteer work than others?

If you were thinking about this, come and join us to ponder on these questions in a fun and carefree way! During 7 days of fun games and activities, we will discover:
Just how exciting volunteer work can be
What does volunteer work mean in different cultures and what cultural values and characteristics are attached to it
What does it take to be a successful volunteer across different cultures and what’s the profile of the European Volunteer
What are the lessons to be learned from others’ previous experiences in promoting volunteer work.
