Long Story Short Film

A training course empowering youth workers to use short film, scriptwriting, and shooting techniques as tools for inclusion and expression.

Long Story Short Film is an Erasmus+ Training Course designed to equip youth workers with the knowledge and practical skills to use short films as powerful tools for non-formal education, inclusion, and intercultural dialogue. Hosted in Carei, Romania, the project will bring together 32 participants from 8 different countries, fostering an international environment of creativity and collaboration.

Through a combination of interactive workshops, theoretical sessions, and hands-on practice, participants will explore scriptwriting, goal-oriented scenario development, camera techniques, and storytelling methods. A key highlight of the course will be the practical workshop led by director and screenwriter Sezgin Cengiz, who co-directed the feature film Tebessüm. His expertise will guide participants through the process of transforming ideas into scripts and turning them into impactful short films.

The training course aims to:

Strengthen the competences of youth workers in using film as an educational methodology,

Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy among young people,

Provide participants with tools to address social issues, promote inclusion, and foster intercultural understanding through visual storytelling,

Create a sustainable network of youth organisations committed to using artistic methods in their work.

At the end of the project, participants will produce short films on selected social and cultural topics, which will be showcased locally to raise awareness and shared online to reach wider audiences. The outcomes will not only enhance the skills of youth workers but also provide resources and inspiration for their future activities with young people.

By combining art, technology, and non-formal education, Long Story Short Film will empower youth workers to make stories matter, turning creativity into a tool for social change.
