Leadership Education – Trainings for Youth Workers

This is a KA1 – mobility of youth workers training project focusing on leadership education.

Dear Friends,

ASHA is looking for partners for an Erasmus+ KA1 training programme on peace education, to be submitted for the April 30 deadline. The call is open until March 31, please see details below.

Title: Leadership Education – Trainings for Youth Workers

Description:

This is a KA1 – mobility of youth workers training project focusing on leadership education.

This will be a long-term non-formal academy for youth leaders. The project aims at providing young people, youth workers and youth activists from Programme Countries with competencies of leadership, teamwork, and active participation during two eight-day residential trainings. As a result of this project, participants will develop and grow in teamwork, motivation, communication, crisis management and strategic thinking - the basic elements of leadership in practice, in order to involve them more in community and social life and to be responsible for themselves and those around them.
The training course is part of the ASHA Foundation’s key activities – we regularly organise leadership courses for young people from all backgrounds.
This course will allow for sharing of ASHA’s experience with European organisations as well as to network and build new partnerships with youth groups across the continent for future Erasmus Plus work.
The project will be based on two trainings, both will directly involve 64 participants (32 people per course).

The courses will be held in December 2014 and January 2016 at the ASHA Centre (Gloucestershire, UK).

The project’s key objectives are:
- This training course focuses on developing youth workers’ skills in youth leadership and active citizenship within a European project framework, thus promoting young people’s active citizenship as well as their attitudes towards European citizenship;
- This project brings together youth workers from different European countries, encourages them to work together and share cultures and experiences both during and outside the formal activity programme, in order to foster mutual understanding and enhance cooperation;
- As this project is focused on youth worker competences, it contributes to developing the quality of support systems for youth activities and the capabilities of civil society organisations in the youth field;
- All of the above-mentioned issues: focus on networking, developing future projects, bringing together young people from all over Europe make this project promote European cooperation in the youth field.

As a result of this project, participants will have an increased theoretical and practical knowledge of various styles of leadership and their applicability to youth work. They will also have increased competencies in using various leadership techniques in daily work. The course will have an impact not only on participants, but also on their organisations, through future projects they will plan during our trainings.

The cost of board and lodging at the ASHA Centre, as well as the costs of the training programme will be fully covered by an Erasmus+ Key Action 1 Grant.

As far as travel cost reimbursements are concerned, ASHA will reimburse a percentage of the overall cost (80%) up to the limits set out in the E+ Guide (flat rates).
