LA CASA MANCHEGA DEL VOLUNTARIADO INTERNACIONAL

Dear friends,
Colectivo GENTES continues with offering young people from other countries the opportunity to participate in an European Voluntary Service here in Spain through a project that will take place in a village of Castilla La Mancha.
We are looking for international partners acting as Sending organization. We also offer the opportunity to interested organization to act as Coordinating & Sending organization.
Volunteers who will take part into this project will operate at two levels: on one hand they will work on the renovation of the house which will become the international house of volunteering; on the other hand they will work with local on making them aware about the European citizenship, cultural diversity and tolerance through actions of promotion and diffusion, like volunteering activities in the public library, local NGOs, sport center, etc. Being a small village with no more than 3000 inhabitants, volunteers will participate in the social life organizing activities for young and old people.
Main tasks will be:
- Renovation and heritage conservation. Participants will spend half of the day working on the conservation and adaptation of the old house, doing cleanings, working on the maintenance of an organic garden, chicken and rabbit breeding, rehabilitation of equipment and old tools, etc. Likewise, the project includes the refurbishment of certain offices and rooms for collective and educational use and for this we will have expert professionals who will supervise reform activities although participants will actively collaborate according to their skills such as painting tasks, distemper, arrange patios and garden, etc.
- Activities in the local community. The other half of the day's activity will be involved with local organizations and associations in cooperation with youth workers and the development of their own activities such as workshops, foreign language classes, intercultural workshops, exhibitions, etc; they will collaborate in some activities organized by the City Council as the municipal sports schools, fitness for elderly, promotion of culture in the public library, health promotion activities. Promotion of Erasmus+ and mobility opportunities among local youth and municipalities of the region.

If you want to apply as a partner organization (YOU MAUST HAVE AN VOLUNTEER CANDIDATE SELECTED) or as a volunteer, please send to us until the 1st of September the application form and the partner page file that you can download on the right. If you are a volunteer without sending organisation please ask in your National Agency for any accredited sending organisation who is close to your home. In other case, if you are a accredited Sending Organisation without a young applicant take in consideration that your candidature is not our priority. (This decision is because we think that it is better to present the project already with the profile of the volunteers.)

The result of the selection will be communicated as from the 15th of September.
