Wipe Out Leukemia – WOL (KA220-YOU Project)
Project Scope and Objectives
This project, coordinated by the Bizim Lösemili Çocuklar Vakfı, is an international collaboration aimed at raising awareness among young people, youth workers, and society about cancer, particularly leukemia. It seeks to create awareness across Europe, establish reliable information sources on leukemia diagnosis and treatment processes, and develop support mechanisms for patients and their families.
The main objectives of the project are:
To increase awareness about leukemia and emphasize the importance of early diagnosis,
To create comprehensive information resources for patients and their families,
To develop roadmaps and guides for leukemia diagnosis and treatment processes,
To strengthen psychological and social support mechanisms for patients and their relatives,
To encourage young people to take an active role in the fight against leukemia through volunteering and social entrepreneurship.
Implementation Process and Activities
The project will be implemented over 24 months in partnership with universities, non-governmental organizations, and youth organizations from Turkey, North Macedonia, and Romania. The key planned activities include:
International project meetings (kick-off, mid-term evaluation, and closing),
Training programs for youth workers,
Development of a "Treatment Atlas" and "Toolkit" covering leukemia diagnosis and treatment processes,
Development of a website and mobile application to share informative content on digital platforms,
Organization of awareness campaigns, workshops, and volunteer programs with the participation of young people and experts.
Work Packages (WPs)
WP1: Project Management (Budget: €47,500)
Project coordination and monitoring activities,
Communication and meetings between partners,
Reporting and evaluation mechanisms.
WP2: International Project Meetings (Budget: €45,000)
Kick-off, mid-term, and closing meetings with all partners,
Information exchange between partners and evaluation of progress.
WP3: Training, Intellectual Outputs, and Dissemination Activities (Budget: €157,500)
Training programs for youth workers,
Development of the Treatment Atlas and Toolkit,
Creation of a mobile application and website,
Dissemination activities and awareness campaigns.
Expected Outputs and Impact
Raising widespread awareness about leukemia,
Developing a comprehensive resource and guide for leukemia diagnosis and treatment,
Enhancing young people’s sense of social responsibility and encouraging their voluntary participation in the project,
Providing easy access to essential information for patients and their families,
Strengthening support mechanisms for leukemia patients,
Encouraging young people to develop innovative solutions through social entrepreneurship activities.
The project, funded under the Erasmus+ KA220-YOU program, is an innovative and multi-dimensional initiative aimed at increasing social awareness, social entrepreneurship, and health consciousness. Through international cooperation, it will offer sustainable solutions, ensuring the active participation of young people and the implementation of effective actions in the fight against leukemia within society.
