KA154 – Youth Voices for Civic Engagement

The project is a youth participation and intercultural exchange initiative implemented under the Erasmus+ KA154 framework, aiming to empower young people to become active and engaged European citizens. It responds to the identified need for increased opportunities for meaningful civic participation, international exchange, and experiential learning among young people in the participating communities.

The initiative brings together one coordinating organisation and three partner organisations, involving young people aged 12–18 and experienced youth workers. Through a series of structured short-term youth mobilities and a main international activity, the project creates a safe and supportive learning environment where young participants can develop key competences such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and civic awareness through non-formal and experiential learning methods.

The project includes three short-term youth mobilities hosted by partner organisations, during which mixed youth groups will work on developing concrete thematic outputs aligned with the overall objectives of the project. These preparatory mobilities will be followed by a main international activity in Pernik, Bulgaria, scheduled for August 2027 and aligned with the local Youth Day celebrations. During this final phase, the developed outputs will be presented to the wider community, complemented by cultural and educational activities in the region.

By linking local realities with European perspectives, the project encourages young people to actively engage in civic life, participate in community initiatives, and better understand their role within the European context. At organisational level, the project strengthens the capacity of participating organisations to deliver high-quality youth participation activities and to work effectively in international partnerships.

Overall, the project contributes to fostering youth engagement, intercultural understanding, and democratic participation, while creating a transferable model for youth participation initiatives that can be applied by other organisations and local authorities across Europe.
