KA152 - Generation on Hold: Youth Futures in a Changing Europe

Generation on Hold is a KA152 Youth Exchange project about what it means to build a future in a Europe where population structures are rapidly changing.

Ageing societies, declining birth rates,
youth migration, housing pressure, unstable work, delayed independence and care responsibilities
are often discussed as demographic data. Yet behind these numbers, there are young people trying
to decide where to live, how to work, whether to migrate, when to become independent, and what
kind of life they can realistically imagine.
This project does not treat demography as a technical issue. It asks a more human question: how
do demographic changes shape young people’s education, work, family, mobility and life choices?
Through non-formal methods such as storytelling, country reality maps, data-based reflection,
scenario-based future mapping, intercultural discussions and youth policy labs, participants will
compare their local realities and develop youth-led ideas for more inclusive and future-friendly
societies.

● Youth Reality Maps on challenges faced by young people in each partner country
● A European Youth Manifesto on education, work, housing, care, migration and participation
● Short digital materials showing that demographic change is not only about numbers, but
about young lives
