Sharing heritage through Komitas’s music and dance, connecting youth in Yerevan and Kütahya, and fostering friendship, leadership, and cultural skills.

Total: 40 young people (20 from each country)

Profile: Volunteers interested in music, dance, cultural heritage, or youth activities

Project Objectives

To share cultural heritage with young volunteers through Komitas’s music and traditional dances.

To enable volunteers to interact with local communities in both Yerevan and Kütahya.

To build bridges of international friendship and cultural understanding among young people.

To develop leadership, communication, and cultural skills of youth through volunteering.

Activities

– Yerevan:

Volunteer music workshops inspired by Komitas’s works

Traditional Armenian dance workshops

Interaction with local communities and volunteering in small cultural events

Sharing experiences and reflection sessions

– Kütahya:

Joint music and dance workshops (Armenian and Turkish youth working together)

Organizing volunteer-led mini concerts and dance performances

Cultural exchange and experience sharing with local communities

The project targets young people aged 18–30 from Türkiye and Armenia, particularly those who are: Interested in music, dance, and cultural heritage, Active in youth or volunteering activities, Motivated to engage in intercultural dialogue and cooperation, Coming from disadvantaged or rural areas with limited access to cultural or international opportunities. These young volunteers will have the chance to explore shared cultural roots, collaborate through music and dance, and develop personal and social skills such as leadership, teamwork, and communication while contributing to mutual understanding between the two countries.
