Green Trails – Orienteering for Sustainable and Inclusive Rural Youth Work

KA153 training course in rural Portugal combining eco-orienteering, outdoor learning, inclusion, sustainability and living cultural heritage.

Green Trails is an Erasmus+ KA153-YOU training course for youth workers, hosted by ADRC Penaverdense in Aguiar da Beira, rural Portugal.
The mobility is planned for 20–26 June 2027, including travel days. The five activity days will take place from 21 to 25 June. The project will involve eight organisations from eight European countries, with four youth workers from each organisation, plus two facilitators.
Through non-formal learning, participants will acquire and exchange practical youth-work methods connecting eco-orienteering, outdoor activities, environmental education, inclusion, active participation and living cultural heritage. Activities may include orienteering, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, environmental interpretation, traditional dances, music and intercultural exchange. Sport and nature will be used as educational tools, not for competition.
Each partner will contribute examples from its youth-work practice and present a traditional dance, song or element of local cultural heritage. Participants will jointly develop a Green Trails Guide containing transferable activities, inclusive adaptations, environmental principles and safety recommendations. After the mobility, every organisation will implement at least one local activity with young people.
We are looking for seven reliable non-profit organisations, NGOs, youth associations or other eligible organisations working with youth workers and young people, particularly in rural areas. Relevant experience may include inclusion, outdoor education, environmental sustainability, sport, active citizenship or cultural heritage.
Each partner must select and prepare four motivated youth workers, participate in online preparation meetings, communicate reliably, contribute to project activities and complete dissemination and follow-up actions. Priority should be given to youth workers with fewer international training opportunities or who work with young people facing geographical, social, economic or educational barriers.
Interested organisations should send an updated PIF containing their legal name, OID, country, contact person, relevant experience and Erasmus+ experience, if applicable.
