Each different, all equal

An exchange which aims to break stereotypes about disabled people. Together we will prove the world that “disabled” does not mean “bad”.

We live in 21st century. One might think that this is the time of huge diversity, and what comes after that - being open-minded and tolerant. Unfortunately, "first impression" very often decides about our attitude to other people - especialy disabled ones. Such judgement leads to dehumanization, disrespect and deprives them of dignity. It causes discrimination, puts people with disability to the dregs of society, and creates false stereotypes as well. Through our project, we aim to break these stereotypes and show, that "disabled" does not mean "worse".

John Paul II said: "Social solidarity is possible, as long as we learn to notice and and percieve disabled people - most of all - as humans". Through common acitivities - workshops, meeting people with disabilities, visiting organisation supporting disabled people, and finally - organising Open Space conference, we will try to discover, how to cope with limitations and barriers created by the modern world for disabled people.

We are looking for 5 participants groups + one group leader from 5 different countries.

Participant profile:
age: 18-23 (leader 18+)
We require participants to be working (or experienced in contact/working) with disabled people.
We would like each group to be proportionally divided in terms of sex.
