“#Dialogue Europe”

“#Dialogue Europe” aims to include the SMEs in the debate on the democratic and social future of the EU.

In the aftermath of the European elections in mid-2014, the challenges facing the EU are even more engaging. The European societies are again in great need to debate and share ideas on how to tackle the pressing problems in Europe. The project for unified Europe and the European Idea are facing wide-spread distrust in the European institutions, lack of participation and awareness of the main citizen concepts, lack of constructive contribution to developing the visions and policy measures that need to be implemented in order to ensure that European integration remains a project of upwards socio-economic convergence with a final goal of increasing the well-being of its citizens.
With the “#Dialogue Europe” project, our aim is to include the SMEs, as the main informal citizenship discussion field for the European peoples, in the debate on the democratic and social future of the European Union. We aim to express and involve the workers’ expectations and demands to the European Agenda using the SMEs in their role as social hubs where most of the European population works and spends most of its time.
The 23 million SMEs all over Europe and their ability to create wealth and high quality jobs, are the backbone of the European Idea. Therefore, the current project presents the European Citizenship’s Conceptual Framework from the perspective of the Collective -community/ies – the SMEs as the main hubs for citizen debates and dialogue in the EU.
Specific Objectives:
 to promote the European Dialogue amongst the citizens at their daily jobs, using the SMEs as citizenship hubs;
 to focus the citizens’ attention on the main topics of the European Debate using a universal social media online tool, accessible on the web page of all European SMEs;
 to understand and raise the awareness of the role of the European SMEs as EU citizens and a part of the civil society;
 to provide young people with an opportunity to express their attitudes and problems in public, and to find potential solutions by communicating them to the relevant European authorities.
