Cyber Sages

Cyber Sages is a Training Course for youth workers that addresses one of today’s most pressing challenges: how young people access, understand, and critically evaluate the information they encounter online. In an age of fake news, cyberbullying, online hate speech and misinformation, youth workers need new tools to guide young people towards safe, responsible, and informed digital participation.

The project will bring together youth workers, trainers, educators and NGO staff from different European countries to strengthen their competences in digital literacy, critical thinking, and online safety. Through non-formal learning methods such as simulations, case studies, group discussions, and media-analysis workshops, participants will explore practical ways to support young people in:

Identifying fake news and misinformation,

Recognising and preventing cyberbullying,

Building resilience against online hate speech,

Developing responsible digital citizenship.

The training is not a technical IT course, but a hands-on learning experience for youth workers who wish to use digital tools and media education in their daily youth work practice. Sessions will focus on both knowledge (understanding online risks and opportunities), skills (evaluating sources, fact-checking, moderating online content), and attitudes (promoting empathy, tolerance and responsible online behaviour).

The activity will also provide space for peer learning and exchange of best practices, enabling participants to share their own challenges and solutions. Reflection sessions and Youthpass methodology will ensure that all participants are able to recognise and document their learning outcomes.

By the end of the project, participants will return to their organisations equipped with practical tools, workshop models, and innovative approaches that can be directly applied in their daily work with young people, multiplying the project’s impact at local and European levels.
