coexist: cultural blending

We are a state school in Istanbul, Turkey. Our studenst are between 9-14 ages. We would like to create a project about cultural richness in one society such as traditions of cuisine, clothes, music and dances, tales etc. For example, in Istanbul, there are different ethnic groups, different religions living in the same neighbourhood, under the same "roof" in peace and in a friendly way. We'd like to emphasize this unity and to pay attention to those differences that shape the Turkish community. It is like the "art of marbling" peculiar to Turkish fine arts or "a mosaic", in a way, every colour is mixed and mingled to each other and form a picture in harmony. While we are introducing our values, also we'd love to learn about the experiences of other countries.
