“CIVIL SOCIETIES IN EU – THE CHALLENGES IN CITIZEN PARTICIPATION”

In the context of the last Center for Research on Education and Lifelong Learning (CRELL) report, which clearly shows, that the Civil Societies in Scandinavian and Western countries are far more developed and active than the ones in Southern and Eastern Europe, which almost hit the bottom we, the “BULGARIA IN EUROPE” ALLIANCE, are glad to invite you, as a partner, in our new project:
“CIVIL SOCIETIES IN EU – THE CHALLENGES IN CITIZEN PARTICIPATION”
The project proposal will apply for funding in “Europe for Citizen” Programme, Strand 2 – “Civil Society Project”.
This project proposal aims to raise awareness and activity in participation in public initiatives. It will, also, try to change the conception of the public consultations with representatives of the authority, on EU topics and problems. The reports and researches show very low levels of trust and legitimacy in institutions and policy makers. That is, largely, because of the lack of awareness of the different mechanisms of the civil society and its advantages and disadvantages, so as the far more opportunities of social inclusion. The civil society indexes in Southern and Eastern EU countries show the lowest values in the researched countries. That is why we are trying to define, discuss and solute the challenges and problems before citizen participation in countries, such as: Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Italy and etc.
We would be glad to have you as an associate partner in joint actions, such as:
- Designing and conducting 2 three-day trainings with experts, lectors and stakeholders;
- Designing and conducting a conference “Civil Society – mechanisms, challenges and perspectives”
- Designing, publishing and promoting a manual/guide with analyzes, good practices and etc.

If you are interested in participating in the project, please send us, via e-mail, as soon as possible (until 21 August 2014), an e-mail which contains the following information:
1. PIC number of the organization;
2. Contact person data, legal representative data;
3. Summarized information about the aims and activities of the organization.
4. Please list projects for which the organization, has received financial support from the EU Programme during the last three years (if there are any);
5. Please list other grant applications submitted by your organization, or the department responsible, for this project proposal. For each grant application, please mention the EU Programme concerned and the amount requested.
