Campo Scuola

The mobility activity will be held in Catania for 5 days excluding travel days, creating a Community in a camping setting in a forest located in one of the high schools. The participants will be responsible for the functionality of the Campo Scuola, where they will share the responsibilities such as cleaning, cooking, maintenance of the camp etc.in assigned groups. This setup allows them to experience various community roles firsthand.
The participants will engage in learning, teaching and reflection sessions conducted in nature and the camp. They will simulate diverse roles like teacher, facilitator, learner, and examiner, integral components of the learning process. These sessions will involve activities such as trekkings, cooking workshops, sports, and other experiential methodologies. This way, the participants will be stimulated to reflect on the ways of integrating non formal educational methodologies to traditional learning. The focus areas include botanics, herbs, healthy diet, culinary skills, and understanding the local impact of climate change. This holistic approach aims to provide participants with practical, hands-on experience while fostering a philosophy of collaboration and cooperation among the Community.

The primary target group for this project is young individuals aged between 14 and 19, or those at the high school level, who are socio-economically disadvantaged or who have had less chance to participate in international activities, engage in activities about active citizenship

The aim of the project is cultivating a holistic and experiential learning environment, wherein young individuals develop a sense of community, personal responsibility, and autonomy, while reflecting on the traditional meaning of education, learning and knowledge.

We are open to have partnership with COMMUNITY CENTERS, YOUTH CENTERS, or organizations that are working with high schools, community centers or youth centers. We expect the partner associations to actively participate in all phases of the project.
