Youth Workers Exchange Working In Migration Field in Mediterranean
The primary target group of this project is youth workers, educators, coordinators, operators and social workers from non European Mediterranean countries who are working in migration field, or specifically in migration reception centers.
One Professional Development Activity, as a Study Visit including Workshops will be held in Spain in October 2024, in a migration reception center.
The project will equip the Youth Workers to build cross-cultural understanding, experience intercultural dialogue among colleagues, reflect on their own work, enhance their knowledge and foster their network. This can contribute to the improvement of new methodologies and perspectives in their work. Language and cultural competences will directly have an impact facilitating their daily interaction with migrants and even their colleagues in reception centers at their organizations. The mobility experience is also expected to increase their motivation, breaking the monotonous cycle of their work.
The youth workers will have hands-on experience about the context of other reception centers in the Mediterranean countries during the study visit and workshops. They will get to know about various services provided, reflect on their own perspectives and methodologies, and observe alternative activities. Through case study workshops, they will enhance their knowledge about socio-political and socio-cultural realities of other Mediterranean countries.
**We expect partnership proposals who can involve youth workers working directly with migrant youth groups in Non-European Mediterraean countries.**
