SOPRO - Solidariedade e Promoção

SOPRO develops its activities and projects to international and local levels guided by the following values: solidarity, cooperation, gender equality, education as a universal right, justice, respect and work volunteering.

SOPRO has a firm background in developing projects for the integration, promotion and participation of people at risk of social exclusion or in a vulnerable situation in society, victims of domestic/dating violence and a solid experience working with youths, promoting social, human and personal competencies.

With short and long term voluntary work projects, SOPRO has a long experience in cooperation for the construction of a more equitable and educated World, working in educational area, social and human/civic problems in Developing Countries.

We have a long-standing and successful experience in projects under Erasmus+ programme. Our past partners appreciated our interactive and hands-on approach and our support in project application and dissemination. SOPRO, as partner, brings a strong added value to an Erasmus+ project thanks to:

· Its international / national activity and presence;
· Its involvement as stakeholder in different initiatives and networks;
· Its dissemination and visibility capacity;
· Its involvement different participants.

2012 – 2014 | YOUNG AND OLD FOR REGIONAL IDENTITIES IN EUROPE ¬- LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAMME – GRUNDTVIG LEARNING PARTNERSHIPS | PARTNER

The project aims to empower the construction of European identity based on the reemergence of regional identities through intergenerational support to young adults’ personal development to assist transition to the wider community and employment opportunities along with acquisition of key competences in non-formal and informal backgrounds as a non-traditional route back into education and employment.

2016 – 2017 | YES – YOUTH EXCHANGE FOR SOLIDARITY | KA1 – YOUTH EXCHANGE ERASMUS + PROGRAMME | Leader

YES – Youth exchange for Solidarity was a promoted exchange Under the Erasmus + programme, which involves four more Different organisations -Italy, Spain, France and Greece-between September 2016 and August 2017.
The exchange was intended for young people with fewer opportunities between 14 and The 18 years that will be held in Barcelos and Braga (Portugal) in mid-month of May 2017 and will involve 30 participants and 8 youth leaders.
YES aims to develop citizenship skills, Active participation and transformation of attitude towards the school course through the universal and attractive tools of sport and volunteering.

2016 | Disability Awareness: A New Paths to develop Skills and Abilities | KA1: training and creation of youth animators networks - ERASMUS + | PARTNER

The SOPRO was involved in a project, called Disability Awareness: A New Paths to develop Skills and Abilities, under the Erasmus + programme, key action 1-training and creation of youth animators networks, promoted by the Italian Association-Vivere Insieme Onlus.
The main objective of the project was the development of young workers and trainers working with young people with disabilities, offering participants the opportunity to improve their skills and awareness about the promotion of Social inclusion, active citizenship and participation in the labour market among the target group of high risk of social exclusion: young people with different intellectual disabilities disabilities.

2016 – 2018 | VIDA YOUTH | KA205 – EXCHANGE OF BEST PRACTICE IN THE FIELD OF YOUTH - ERASMUS + | PARTNER

Result of an international partnership between entities of different European countries (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus and the Czech Republic), within the framework of the Erasmus programme, key Action 2 + (2016) for innovation and Cooperation Exchange of good practices for the young.
VIDA YOUTH aims the sharing and dissemination of best practices and non-formal educational activities in order to prevent the causes of violence among young people (13-18 years) involving potential victims and aggressors.

2018 | TURN FEARS INTO HOPES | PARTNER KA1 – YOUTH EXCHANGE ERASMUS + PROGRAMME | PARTNER

"Turn Fears Into Hopes" was a laciness promoted by the Euro-Pesrpektive Association, under the ERASMUS + programme, where five blow volunteers were present in Brolo-Sicily for an exchange between the days 15-24 June 2018. The project was funded by the National Agency of Croatia – where there were about 35 young people from seven European countries (Italy, Croatia, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Greece and Slovakia).
The aim of the project was to raise awareness among young people about the reality of migrant students, their needs, their hopes, human rights and the basic Principles for civil coexistence between peoples. Throughout the project, young people had the opportunity to acquire a greater awareness of the real and painful dynamics of the issue of migrants. During the project, the young people participated in numerous workshops that were boosted by the members of each team, always related to the theme of refugees, as well as intercultural evenings, among other activities previously planned.

2018 | 1 st Place | PARTNER KA1 – YOUTH EXCHANGE ERASMUS + PROGRAMME | PARTNER

The main aim of the project activities is to promote youngsters understanding of how healthy improve their daily lives and to promote sport as a method for promoting cultural learning and social inclusion through sport. During the project we are planning to promote a variety of team and individual sports that are less known to young people such as lacrosse, disc golf, crossroads, as well as various activities with young people among well-known team sports, revealing them again.
Also participants will have the opportunity to improve their physical ability, to learn different exercises that can be used in each everyday life.
Tournament of various sports (traditional and unconventional sports) is a project goal as a public event.

2018 | POWER IN (E)MOTION | KA1 TRAINING COURSE - ERASMUS + | PARTNER

The aim of the project was to develop capacities of youth work practitioners (including youth workers, leaders of informal groups, trainers, coaches, etc.) in applying emotional intelligence practices in empowering young people for their further personal and professional evelopment.

2018 – 2019 |ENGAGE IN NATURE | PARTNER KA1 – YOUTH EXCHANGE ERASMUS + PROGRAMME | PARTNER

This youth exchange will take place in Örkelljunga, Sweden and aims to support young people’s lives in the natural and rural areas and will attempt to revive their desire to be in natural environments. It will raise young people’s awareness of nature and the important value that it holds.

2018 - 2019 | NETWORK ALTERNATIVE TO THE REAL CRUELTY IN SELFIES OPPRESSION | PARTNER KA1 – YOUTH EXCHANGE ERASMUS + PROGRAMME | PARTNER

This project wants to give young participants the opportunity to use the photography on the network in alternative way , not to "make people laugh and entertain others", or "tell others with who I am, where I am and what I'm doing "but to express" as I am "or" how I feel ", representing their own body in the form of art, without demonizing the multimedia languages but offering valuable and exciting alternatives to their use for enhancing young people in their right to freedom of photograph their bodies but, at the same time, to express the pleasure of living and the respect for the individual.


2018 – 2018| BE GREEN| KA1 – YOUTH EXCHANGE ERASMUS + PROGRAMME | Leader

Be Green is a Youth Exchange that will gather in Apulia, Esposende, with 40 young participants and 10 leaders.
The objective of YE is to show participants what is already happening on our planet, in Portugal, namely in Esposende. By showing reality to young people, we intend to show that they have the power in their hands, the power to make change happen in their homes, communities, cities...
Be Green is the result of concern about environmental issues and the use of plastic, compromising the sustainability of our planet.

2019 | Hands4You | KA1 – YOUTH EXCHANGE ERASMUS + PROGRAMME | Leader

The Hands4you project is a youth exchange that arise from the slogan that SOPRO carries for more than 20 years, "Small Gestures that change the World", because we believe that a small gesture can make great changes and every gesture undertaken in this project will be special.
Promoting human rights education, with a focus on cultural diversity and active citizenship, through the creation and development of volunteer activities by the young participants is our great challenge in this project.

The project is aimed for young people with fewer opportunities characterized by being marginalized young people with fewer opportunities and having social, economic, educational difficulties and or social, between 14 and 17 years, to be held in Barcelos and Braga (Portugal) from December 03 to 13, 2019, involving 35 participants (all genders, between 14 and 17 years) and 14 leaders (no age limit).


2019 - 2020 | VOICES| KA1 – YOUTH EXCHANGE ERASMUS + PROGRAMME | Leader

VOICES is a Youth Exchange that will gather in Barcelos, with 35 young participants and 7 leaders.

VOICES emerges geared towards marginalized young people with fewer opportunities, aged 18-30.
From this exchange we want young people to return to their countries to become more participatory and more active in their communities, who understand that human rights are inherent rights for all human beings, regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion or any other condition, and that it is a very powerful cooperation tool and an important mechanism for promoting empowerment and personal and social transformation. It is intended that the young people involved in this project assume and play an important role in fostering active participation and citizenship among other young people.
