DARE TO CREATE

Targeted at young people with fewer opportunities Dare To Create is an exchange about gender equality issues that uses arts as a creative process.

Artistic expression has great potential when it comes to passing information, messages, in a less exhaustive way to the target audience. Whether in the form of music, dance, theatre, cinema, painting, among others, there is a wide range of possibilities for new ways to convey awareness messages, in this case in the context of promoting Gender Equality, Citizenship and Non-Discrimination.

In fact, artistic advantages abound regardless of whether it is aimed at training art professionals or simply contributing to the harmonious development of the personality of the human being.

Main Goal: Promote critical reflection on gender equality issues and enable the adoption of more egalitarian attitudes and practices through the arts as a creative process.
In order to enhance the participation and awareness of all project participants, it uses culture, tradition and several expressive forms in the field of arts, such as dance, theatre and fine arts (paintings) of the European community.

The exchange will include:
• Development of actions, workshops to raise awareness and training of participants on Promoting Gender Equality providing several moments of sharing / discussion / reflection among participants;
• Performing actions / workshops to stimulate creativity through the integration of participants in different workshops (crafts, dance, music, theatre, among others);
• Presentation of the work carried out in the workshops at the Medieval Tower of Barcelos City, providing the involvement of young participants in the dissemination of good practices and in raising community awareness of the subject.

Activities will take place in Barcelos, (Portugal), in September 2020 with 5 participants (18 – 30 years old) + 1 leader (no age limit) for each national group and a preliminary visit is planned in June 2020.
