Selfmade

As you know European youth, was one of the most affected groups by the economic and social transformations across Europe. An unpredictable labour market, growing unemployment rates, salary exploration as well as several social problems that came with it.
Selfmade is a non-profit organization, focused on helping our young Portuguese, and European peers, develop entrepreneurial mindsets to invest in their own ideas and businesses. Thus, contributing to an increase of, class mobility, and decreasing the number of youth unemployment.
We act on this through international mobility and providing aid to local and foreign youngsters who wish to start, or take their businesses to the next level. Be it through our Youth Exchanges, TC’s, ESC’s or other courses, activities, local and international initiatives. Selfmade, will be a community of young, selfmade, entrepreneurs who grab their futures and achieve their potentials with their own hands.
In whatever activity we take part of, we will follow some principles:
1) dedication – we give it our all in any initiative we participate in
2) openness – we work with and for youth
3) enthusiasm – we believe we can a make a difference and are keen on making it happen
We are aware that it’s easy to list these values on paper, and a lot harder to follow them through, however, our name is on the line, and we wish to stick to these values to the best of our ability.
We do not have a lot of experience as an actual NGO yet, as mentioned. But we have a well-rounded, committed team who wants to make a difference, with plenty of experience in the youth work field. The team has around 40+ participations in different E+ projects, that addressed several themes like Healthy Lifestyle, Entrepreneurship and Social Issues to name a very small few. Our key staff members have also led several sessions and workshops, as well as being in involved in the organizing staff of other organizations projects abroad and in Portugal.
We will also always make sure, we always have the right team for the projects we take on! In the future we will also rely on a pool of volunteers and members that have a good relationship with our organization.
