PlayMore!

Since 2013, PlayMore! manages on behalf of the Municipality of Milan the most central urban sport centre of the city (located in the Brera district) which has become a reference point for sport in Milan; the urban sport centre is set out over 4.000 square meters with a 5-a-side football pitch in artificial turf, a field for basket and one volley pitch, one athletics track and one play-ground for children.
PlayMore! is particularly active in promoting sport and social inclusion of disadvantaged people specially in most deprived urban areas, and our key objectives are:
• To facilitate social relations between people, in times of growing individualism;
• To value diversity as a resource for the progress of society, with particular attention to the inclusion of disadvantaged social groups;
• To strengthen, especially among young people, basic values such as loyalty, respect, non-violence, anti-racism;
• To encourage a healthy and active lifestyle
• To reach and animate marginalized or degraded urban areas
PlayMore! organized since its foundation many sports projects aimed at social inclusion of vulnerable groups with particular reference to children, people with disabilities and migrants. The most important activities organized within the PlayMore! urban sport centre are:
• Sports courses for children (about 400 children involved in football, athletics, mini-rugby, multi-sport training);
• PlayMore! Special - integrated football school for disabled people playing in mixed teams with volunteers;
• PlayMore! United – 2 multicultural football teams (under and over 18) composed by migrants and refugees mixed with local players
• Run Challenge – the first integrated running club that brings together runners with and without disabilities

PlayMore! has developed a good experience in carrying out projects in collaboration with local public authorities and private bodies, health services, schools, associations, grassroots sport and private companies.

PlayMore! has also been partner in the EU-funded project PRO US ALL, Promoting Sports for All in Urban Areas (2012-2014): the project (14 partners from 10 EU Member States) aimed at developing innovative and effective approaches for promoting sport and physical activities in urban areas (in Milan, Sofia, Bucharest, Belfast, Prague).

PalyMore! staff is composed by qualified sport coaches and instructors, educators and psychologists with specific experience in working with disadvantaged people. The multidisciplinary expertise of the staff will ensure both the quality of sport training and the successful integration of young people with different backgrounds within the group; furthermore, numerous volunteers are involved on a regular basis for organizing sport events and other sport related activities.
