Sport Alliance for Inclusion of Refugees- SAFIR

Specific objectives of the project are:
- share experiences and best practices between partners;
- transfer partners’ best practices and methodologies in promoting social inclusion through sport:
- SCL Berlin, Sportgames initiative, for young people with mental and physical disabilities;
- PlayMore! Milan, “PlayMore! United” for Migrants and refugees;

Furthermore, the Project aims:
- to foster innovation in and through SPORT together with not-for-profit organizations, institutions and other organisations active in the fields of sport and social inclusion, and contributing to new approaches to promoting social inclusion through sport;
- to modernise sport and social sectors, exchange ideas, knowledge and best practices, etc.;
- to support personal and professional development of youth workers from partner organizations (the project aims at equipping participants - e.g. youth workers, coaches, volunteers, etc. - with competences and methods inspired by partners’ methodologies and different approaches.

Within the SAFI Project 2 transnational training courses on SCL and PlayMore! models will be organized. The TTCs will use practical approach based on experiential learning and practical participation to SCL/PlayMore! sessions in classroom and on pitch. The working method is dynamic, with group discussions and practical sessions, in order to assure the active participation of trainees.

The SAFI project will work with young people at risk of social exclusion, with fewer opportunities and from different socio-economic contexts:
- Migrants and refugees;
- Mental and physical disabilities;
- Minorities and socio-economic problems;
- From rural and/or most deprived urban areas.
