PLATFORM FOR YOUTH ACTION

The formation and establishment of Platform for Empowerment and Action as a community-based non profit making organization is mooted out of the understanding that a collective societal effort is a pre-requisite to achieving a sustainable socio-economic, ecological and educational growth and development across community smallholdings . It is borne of an understanding that communal growth and development is the cornerstone in the national concerted effort geared towards poverty alleviation and food security in the 3rd world countries of which Kenya is part. Platform for Empowerment and Action is established on similar principles aiming to boost the socio-economic, ecological and educational statii of its target groups and the interested parties and its modus operandi motto shall be, ‘Empowering common ‘mwananchi’’. Its programme area shall be aimed at empowering the community on socio-economic and political matters.

MISSION STATEMENT

To offer an empowerment platform as a springboard to securing the desired future in line with the competitiveness of the global market

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

1. To enhance the society’s economic stability through trainings that will arouse their potential, ambitions and aspirations.
2.To enrich the public with knowledge on leadership and governance through civic education and advocacy on human and socio-economic rights.
3.To promote the social wellbeing of the society by promoting cultural exchanges, placements and volunteerism.
4.To nurture and support innovative livelihood enterprises and ideas that are less land ownership intensive through institutional linkages.
5.To promote health by creating awareness campaigns on HIV/AIDS, drug abuse among other ills that the society faces.
6.To facilitate and enhance decision making in careers by conducting career talks and guidance in institutions to enable the youth at this level make informed choices.
7.To identify, develop and promote talents among the youth.
8.To provide a platform for the society to explore their unique capacities for development, and guide their exploitation of the same at different levels.
9.To champion for conservation and protection of the natural environment with emphasis on the use, planning and development natural resources.
