Youth Association No Excuse Slovenia

No Excuse Slovenia strives for positive social change and personal growth of young people. It fosters their social participation and activation of their peers. By peer-to-peer and intergenerational dialogue it raises awareness about current topics and encourages their critical thinking. Through various projects the organization promotes and advocates for sustainable development, tolerance, healthy lifestyle and active citizenship. No Excuse Slovenia is an apolitical and non-profit organization, working independently from any private source of funding. We currently have three strategic committees (SC): SC for Sustainable Development, SC for Public Health and SC for Activation projects. As the main idea of No Excuse Slovenia is to activate young people, we do this through organization oflocal and national projects, and participation at small-scale international projects for young people aged 15 to 17 years. In short, this serves as a push for young people to see how much activation in community-based activities can give to a young person. On Sustainable development we currently work on the topics of Climate Change, Green Washing, Fair Society and Green Economy, being set for development of new working fields (Fair Trade, Consumerism, Critical thinking and Human Rights) in the following years. A very important topic for us is also inclusion in the field of the new trending topic of Environmental Health that is partially a topic of this application form. On Public Health we work on the field of Alcohol, Tobacco, Nutrition, Mental and Reproductive health, as well as we are starting to develop new projects on the field of Illegal drugs and other forms of addiction. We have however started our organization on the base of this SC, i.e. we are strongly believing that the Healthy lifestyle aspects are a very important topic to cover in our global project.
