Food For Life Global

Food for Life Global is a humanitarian organization which was founded in 1995 and is currently based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to serve as the headquarters and coordinating office for Food for Life projects worldwide. Since the slogan of our organizationis “Uniting the world through pure food”, most activities we carry out are connected with fighting food waste and preventing edible surplus produce to be thrown away, surplus food preparation and food distribution.

Food for Life projects span the globe and all have unique local aims and objectives. However, all Food for Life projects will adhere to the following principles as part of their overall strategy:
- Welfare: to provide pure plant-based meals to the disadvantaged, malnourished and victims of disaster (natural or manmade), wherever there is a need in the world.
- Non-Violence: to reduce the amount of animals slaughtered for food, by giving plant-based meals prepared with loving intention to as many people as possible.
- Health: to teach about the value of plant-based meals for improving health.
- Education: to teach the art and science of food yoga as an important part of spiritual development.
- Hospitality: to teach people by example, that there is equality among all beings.
Food for Life Global’s mission flows from its core values of charity and respect for all living creatures.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life and everyone is welcome to participate in our community projects, regardless of their nationality, age, race, beliefs or political views. To co-operate with FFL you need to have an open mind and positive attitude towards life.
