Faremondi

Faremondi is a non profit organization promoting local and global socio-cultural development. FM works for positive social change, for respectful and intercultural living, for improving the diversity as a value. Our activities regard especially integration among cultures and generations, promotion of cultural heritage, support to families and people with fewer opportunities. Our association is involved in projects of non formal youth education, sustainable urban development, social inclusion of immigrants and discriminated people, active citizenship. FM team includes youth workers, cultural mediators, psychologists, media experts, semiologists, architects and economists. In order to improve the quality of its actions, the organization promotes cooperation with other nonprofit organizations, public bodies and networks dealing with social issues.
FM has been the promoter of cultural events on protection of cultural heritage, intercultural exchanges and legality, manifestations for new forms of tourism, seminars and concerts for social and collective participation, for the protection of childhood, exhibitions on the theme of disability and physical diversity, courses of drawing and comic strips, but also technical formation for renewable energy.
FM is carrying out a project of Youth in Action (1.2) for the promotion of urban sustainability among young people. They have been involved in the production of a documentary video telling the problems and contradictions of the historical centre of Palermo from an innovative point of view. The project is an experiment of active participation of young generations in order to learn and develop positive behaviors for the urban improvement. At the end of the project, the video and a photographic exhibition will be shared with citizens.
