Diyarbakir İl MEM

The foundation of the Diyarbakır Provincial Directorate of National Education dates back to 1881, when it was included in the provinces of the education council, and it took its final form in 1967, and it has been the highest level educational institution affiliated to the Diyarbakır governorship since then. It has 17 district directorates of national education and 17 public education centers, 1 maturation institute and 1,931 schools (educational institutions). It is responsible for the systematic and balanced execution of all education and training affairs, excluding higher education, throughout the province. Our institution acts with the mission of raising an information society that thinks creatively, follows technological developments, uses knowledge, skills and technology effectively, has a sense of responsibility, has adopted democratic and cultural values, and knows how to interpret different understandings in line with the general objectives and principles of the Turkish National Education System. It acts with the vision of being a leading institution that manages the future by using universal and local education dynamics, has contemporary and innovative values aiming to develop, whose employees are effective and efficient.
Education and training gains sustainability when different societies come together and provide intercultural interaction. For this purpose, our research and development unit under our directorate works diligently on national and international projects (EU projects, Erasmus+ , Development Agency projects, TÜBİTAK, STEM, PICTES etc.). The most important of these studies is STEM studies. We have 1 STEM Center for this. In this center, trainings are provided for students, teachers and young people. We organize workshops and projects especially for young people to learn innovative approaches and gain 21st century skills.
