CEIPES - International Center for Promotion of Education and Development

CEIPES – Centro Internazionale per la Promozione dell'Educazione e lo Sviluppo is a non-profit association founded in Palermo in 2007. It aims to empower people, communities & organisations (Vision), by developing their potential through education and training, work, innovation and international cooperation (Mission).

CEIPES’ goals are based on the needs of our target groups and the whole society:
1. Fostering non formal education as a key methodology for enhancing people’s personal and professional learning paths.
2. Promoting personal and professional development of individuals through lifelong learning opportunities, including learning mobilities.
3. Designing and implementing innovative tools and methodologies in the field of education through cooperation at local and international level.
4. Fostering capacity building of local and international communities by partnering with entities in different fields.
5. Promoting equality, inclusion and respect for diversity, encouraging an open and intercultural dialogue between individuals and groups with different backgrounds, with the aim of building a more multicultural and inclusive society.

Main topics addressed:  Innovation & Technology; Entrepreneurship; Sustainability; Environment; Civil Rights; Inclusion & Human Rights; Art, Culture and Creativity; Design and Gamification; Disability & SEN; Health, Well-being and Sport.

Main target groups: young people; youth workers; adults; migrants; disadvantaged youths; NEETs; women; educators; teachers & students; public institutions; unemployed people; different professionals according to the fields addressed.

CEIPES’ Implementation Office has 4 units dealing with different topics - in order to allow the organisation to capitalise on thematic-specific expertise and partnerships - i.e.:
1) Innovation, Technology, Sustainability and Entrepreneurship
2) Human and Civil Rights
3) Art, Culture, Design & Gamification
4) Well-being, Sport & Disability

CEIPES’ structure also includes a COMIT department - dealing with all the activities related to ICT, dissemination and communication - along with the “Rise Lab - Center for Innovation, Empowerment and Networking”, which manages CEIPES’ ANG in radio, the Pocket Cine-theatre, the STEM Lab with its additive manufacturing technologies (3D Printing) and the MADE (analogue digital empowerment museum).
