AGUYAD Afyonkarahisar Better Tomorrows Association

Afyonkarahisar Better Tomorrows Association is a non-governmental organization in which most of the members are active women's rights activists. It was launched as the first and only human rights association of Afyonkarahisar in 2004.
Our main aim is to fight against any kind of discrimination and constraint especially on the field of prevention of human rights and liberty violations. Also, it aims to take part in national and international platforms and all sorts of civilian organizations in order to remove the obstacles on the fundamental rights and liberties. In addition, it aims to organize or take part in activities such as scientific, cultural, artistic or educational courses, conferences, meetings, panels, seminaries, etc. which intend to raise public awareness on human rights.
Our vision is to form local training units on freedom of beliefs and ethnic origin by cooperating with national organizations which carry out studies on the field of human rights.
Our missions are: to take polls to find out the interest and knowledge level of the youth on the local basis and take actions according to the data gathered; to start the introduction process with the object of arousing interest on the subject by using means such as posters, brochures, and web pages; to get in contact with Human Rights Committee and Bar Association and decide what works are going to be carried out about freedom of beliefs and ethnic origin cooperatively; to start awareness raising activities by getting help from the exercises and experiences of the organizations which carries out activities on law; to benefit from EU and other funds to carry out the activities.
