Adana Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services

Adana Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services is a local body of Ministry of Family and Social Services which is responsible for establishing and carrying out policies for families, women, the children, the elderly, the disabled, relatives of martyrs and veterans. We perform, implement and execute social services for disadvantaged groups who are in need of and seek protection, care, education, guidance, rehabilitation.

The main duties of our Directorate are as follows:
- Carries out counseling and social service activities to protect family integrity and increase family welfare.
- Carries out and coordinates protective, preventive, educational, developmental, guidance and rehabilitative social service activities for children. It also strengthens the family with training, counseling and social economic support in order to raise and support the child within the family.
- It carries out activities to ensure that women benefit equally from rights, opportunities and possibilities in all areas of social life and to prevent violence against women.
- Carries out activities to ensure the effective participation of the disabled and the elderly in social life.
- Developing a sense of trust and belonging by integrating refugees into society culturally, socially and economically.
- It conducts educational activities and projects for individuals and families, organizes conferences, seminars and similar events.
It also provides residential care services for children, women and the elderly.

We provide social services to these groups through 1250 personels and 21 instutions. They are Social Service Centers, Children’s Homes Sites, Youth Center for Unaccompanied Children (children refugees), Child Support Centres, Nursing Home Elderly Care and Rehabilitation Center, Preventing and Monitoring Domestic Violence Center, Women Guesthouses, Barrier-Free Living Care, Rehabilitation and Family Counseling Center, Elderly Care, Rehabilitation Centers.
