The Adana Provincial Directorate of National Education is the primary public institution responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of education policies in Adana province, under the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Turkey. The Directorate provides education services across a wide range of areas, from pre-school education to primary and secondary education, vocational and technical education, special education, and lifelong learning. The institution's mission is to manage education services effectively, efficiently, inclusively, and sustainably, with the aim of raising individuals who possess national, spiritual, and universal values, are equipped with the knowledge and skills required by the times, are productive, and contribute to society. Its vision is to be a model educational institution in Turkey by creating an innovative, entrepreneurial, productive, high-quality, and participatory educational environment that prioritizes equal opportunities in education. The Adana Provincial Directorate of National Education is responsible for the planning and coordination of education services for 1,546 schools and institutions, 36,817 teachers, and 485,252 students throughout the province. The Directorate carries out activities in line with the implementation of education policies, supporting the professional development of teachers, strengthening the academic and social development of students, and ensuring equal opportunities in education for all students. The organizational structure of the Directorate consists of the Provincial Director of National Education, deputy directors, branch managers, units responsible for different service areas, district national education directorates, and educational institutions. In project studies, the R&D Unit of the Provincial Directorate of National Education actively participates in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, inter-institutional coordination, and access to national and international funding sources. The Adana Provincial Directorate of National Education develops strong collaborations with universities, local governments, public institutions, development agencies, civil society organizations, and private sector representatives. Studies conducted with Çukurova University, Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University, Çukurova Development Agency, and various public institutions strengthen the Directorate's capacity for multi-stakeholder project development and implementation. The institution has significant experience in European Union programs, national support programs, and local development projects, especially Erasmus+. The professional development of teachers, supporting students' academic and social skills, digital transformation, social inclusion, entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, and access to education for disadvantaged groups are among the institution's priority areas of work.
