Adana İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü

The Adana Provincial Directorate of National Education is the main public authority responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing education policies in Adana province, in line with the Turkish Ministry of National Education. It oversees a comprehensive education system including early childhood, primary, secondary, vocational, special education, and lifelong learning.

The Directorate’s vision focuses on nurturing generations who realize their potential, adapt to modern challenges, and contribute to society. Its mission is to deliver innovative and effective educational practices, support teacher professional development, promote students’ academic and social growth, and ensure equal opportunities for all learners.

The Directorate manages an extensive network of approximately 1,520–1,642 schools serving around 547,000 students, with a workforce of 34,856 teachers and administrative staff. Its organisational structure includes the Provincial Director, deputy directors, branch managers, and specialised units covering Human Resources, Research and Development (R&D), Finance, ICT, Communication, and Occupational Health and Safety.

Key units such as the R&D department coordinate innovative national and international projects, focusing on quality improvement, digital transformation, inclusion, and lifelong learning. Supporting units ensure efficient, transparent, and sustainable operations, while specialised staff strengthen schools’ capacity to deliver safe and high-quality learning environments.

The Directorate collaborates closely with district directorates, schools, local authorities, universities, civil society, and international partners. With strong institutional capacity, project experience, and a broad educational network, it actively contributes to European priorities, including equity, innovation, digital skills, active citizenship, and cross-border cooperation.
