Abbar Youth Initiative was founded 25 Jan 2011 after the Revolution. Abbar is part of SYN International network, part of Salto youth network, and part of Erasmus+ network.

In 25 Jan, the Egyptian youth have proved to the world that they have a voice and are positive enough to change the world, the political, social and cultural life started to be refreshed once again in the country.

The political and other social mobilizations in the region have demonstrated that youth and civil society are eager for more freedom, social change, and consolidation of democratic values within their respective societies.

Everyone has a high motive now to express and talk and say his/her opinion, however, it was so notable that many people lack the ability to express in the right way.
Also, the contemporary events that take place everyday proves that our society is still suffers from the lack of state of dialogue between its citizens who have different backgrounds and ideologies.

Focusing on the role of civil society and its great impact on youth, our goal is to help in promoting citizenship and democracy through intercultural dialogue; enhancing youth leadership and their role in generating social and political changes.

Our mission is to help giving a chance to young people from all the levels to increase their abilities and skills in practicing many verticals such as, democracy, freedom of speech, accepting differences in others and coexist with them, and to let their talents speak about the identity of their country and show it to other identities.

The level of freedom of speech presented after the revolution showed how much some Egyptian youth need to be introduced to the dialogue ethics and techniques, a main target for our initiative.

Also a main point in our mission is to develop the personal and debating skills of the participants.

Our vision is to achieve our goal in promoting citizenship and democracy through intercultural dialogue; enhancing youth leadership and their role in generating social and political changes.
This will be done through setting many projects and plans

We are on youth and civil fields since 2011 and we work on topics like: Social, cultural, politics, Youth participation, Active citizenship, Adaptation of disabled people to social life, Intercultural dialog, Intercultural learning and Cultural diversity.

Our activities are: Local, National, International youth projects to improve quality of the youth works, social Projects that we carried out following projects:
- Partnership with The Swedish institute for School of Democracy project on 2011

-Partnership with AEGEE in Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Project "Euro Arab" in Germany 2013

-Partnership with IYACA in Erasmus+ Training Project "Religious Diversity" in Trukey 2015

-Part of SYN “Synergized Earth Network“ since 2013 to develop solutions for the global worl issues.

- Part of Salto Youth Network since 2012.

Abbar Youth Initiative (ABBAR) promotes the Erasmus programe among young people,

in particular the Youth Exchanges, Training, Seminars. We have many partnership on youth field with following countries : Germany , Turkey, Netherlands, Hungary, Spain, Romania , Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia , Armenia, Georgia, Palastine, Israel, and Lithuania

We have 4 skilled staff “ Board Members“ all of them have years of experience in the youth field.

1-Amr AbdelHamid : Well experienced youth worker actively involved in NGO sector from 2010. He is the president of the association and worked in different levels such as youth worker long years.
Civil work experience :
-AIMUN “ Alexandria international model of united nation 2010 “ as a delegate .
-AIMAL 2010”Alexandria International Model Arab League “as a organizing committee member , awarded as best organizing committee .
-MEU 2010 “ MODEL of European Union “ as a organizing .
-MNBI 2010 “ Model Nile basin initiative “ as Internal communication and Academic committee member.
-Arts and culture program for step up initiative 2011 .
-School of Democracy 2011 as Academic committee member .
-Founder of Abbar initiative for Egyptian youth .
Amr participated in many local youth projects as youth worker and trainer such as in direct learning and youth Development.
His main passion areas are
Future leading , active and indirect learning , youth development and effective contribution in the society

2- Sheref Elsayed : Experienced youth leader actively involved in Youth and Civil work field from 2011. He is the Vice president of the Initiative and The International Projects Coordinator, attended and organized many different youth projects.
Civil work experience :
-School of Democracy 2011 as one a trainer and organizer.
-Abbar team leader in AEGEE Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Project "Euro Arab" in Germany 2013
-Abbar team leader in IYACA Erasmus+ Training Project "Religious Diversity" in Turkey 2015
-Abbar representitive in SYN Network since 2013.
-One of the Egyptian youth who represented Abbar and Egypt in Seliger Youth Forum in Russia 2010.
Sheref participated in many local youth projects as youth worker and trainer such as in formal and formal learning and youth Development.
His main passion areas are
Ledership , Formal and In-Formal education, youth development, IT, and civil work.

3-Tasneem hassan: she has been working in civil society since 2009, she participated in many youth activities in and outside Egypt.
She is the media head and one of the trainers in our organization.
She always have the motive to make a change and to add a value to her life.
She is interested in youth participation and justice beside the special needs rights.

4-Mohamed Ragab ( PR committee head), he has participated in many activities are related to Youth development & awareness since 2011 like:
-School of democracy By Abbar initiative as a participant.
-Alexandria International Model Arab League (AIMAL) as a delegate.
-ANA FANY( I’m Technician ) project for young technicians’ development By Step up initiative as a capacity building Head.
-Hayaty association for charity as a projects committee head.
