ASSOCIAZIONE IO PER L'ALTRO

IPA - Io Per l'Altro is an NGO born 4 years ago in Ostia, an area of Rome.
At the very beginning our main aim was to support in any possible meaning a small community in Avete, a village in Togo - Africa. Then we grew up, and we now care multiple projects, co-operating with other local (but not only) NGOs.

It is in Togo where we achieved our greatest project yulding an orphanotrophy for the local parentless children; estabished an innovating but simple system to let them have clean water everyday.

In Rome instead, we opened a youth centre, a point of reference for many youngsters who live here nerby and want to carry forward a their own project but haven't a place to realize it. Art shows, trainings, meet up, workshops, cultural events is all we achieved in these last 2 years.

Last year we worked with Pontificia Università Lateranense and at the moment we are starting a new co-operation with a university here in Rome in order to sensitize as many youngsters as possible to the cause.

Our volounteers also supported other NGOs in humanitary crisis in other countries, such as during the overflow in Serbia - sending medicins, clothes, toys - or phisically went to Idomeni at the border (between Grecce and Macedonia) to help preparing meals for refugees.

In every single project, event or cooperation we always spur youth to wake up and move to change what sorrounds them, spreading solidariety and civic sense.
