War Games

"War Games" is 7 days residential training course on Game-Based Learning promoted by Cooperativa Sociale Muovimente. The course aims to explore games and gaming methodologies of different types and on different platforms (social games, role playing games, boardgames, video and digital games, creativity expression exercises) and their application in educational activities. The project will take place in Sermugnano, a small village in central Italy, from the 16th to the 24th of June 2018 (travel days included). It will involve 24 participants and 3 trainers from 8 different European countries (Italy, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Slovakia, Belgium, Poland and UK). The objectives of the training course are: • to define a positive approach to leadership and develop related skills; • to explore games as learning tools to develop political participation, inclusion and non violent communication; • to introduce tips and principles of "gamification" in education and training, and to discuss potential negative side effects; • to empower trainers, youth workers and leaders to increase young people's participation to political life, reduce radicalization and xenophobia, promote a less violent society - and endow them with applicable tools.
