This Erasmus Course was created from a need to offer participants a chance to understand exclusion and inclusion within educational environments. The Art of identifying elements that do not support inclusive processes and dealing with them with non-formal methodology tools. We aim to empower adult education to discover more about the potential of including learners that might exclude them from learning opportunities.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

This Erasmus course has been designed for educators/youth workers of different subjects who wish to find out new interactive methods of learning and teaching that will allow a more inclusive approach to students and learners. Understanding Exclusion and Inclusion and how to deal with it in educational environments has been a topic that puzzles educators.

Especially the last years in which learners/student have been revealing many elements of difficulties in adjusting to environments. We aim to support educators and enhance their confidence in dealing with inclusion matters through non formal methods, based on the knowledge and the power of the group. We shall focuses on the inclusivity of education process rather than trying to remove barriers one by one; the emphasis is on how to transform existing systems rather than on how some learners can be integrated into them. It shall promote education processes that respect diverse needs, abilities and characteristics and eliminate forms of discrimination in the learning environment.

  • To promote and develop awareness of inclusive and exclusive learning.
  • To create a multicultural space for sharing experiences with the use of interactive teaching methods
  • To develop the competences that will support the inclusion of learners with specific difficulties, such as disabilities (a focus on Hearing, Visual and mobility impairment)
  • To work towards the direction of Inclusion of people facing access barriers or having fewer opportunities in education,
  • To introduce participants with the approaches and activities for and inclusive education and to adapt it to their local contexts and realities
  • To exchange best practices amongst educators in working within inclusion topics
  • To enhance the personal and professional development of educators to better support vulnerable/or disabled volunteers by equipping them with skills in empathy, assertiveness, non-discriminatory practices, and effective communication.
