VIRTUALLYEDU Final Conference - Bridging the Digital Skills Divide in Youth Work and Education

Conference – Symposium - Forum

21 September 2026 | Zoom, Sweden

The VIRTUALLYEDU Final Conference bringins together the consortium partners and labour market experts to share the results of the Virtual Exchange Programme delivered across higher education and youth settings.

The VIRTUALLYEDU Final Conference marks the culmination of the Erasmus+ project “Virtual exchanges and education on digital skills” (Project No. 101111952, Call ERASMUS-EDU-2022-VIRT-EXCH). Over the course of the project, eight partner organisations from Sweden, Armenia, Greece, Georgia and Ukraine worked together to design and test a model for delivering high-quality virtual exchange between higher education institutions and youth organisations .

Join us online on 21 September 2026 to see what three years of cross-border collaboration produced. The conference brings together the consortium partners, facilitators, hackathon winners and participants of the Virtual Exchange Programme to present results, share first-hand experience and open a discussion on where virtual exchange goes next for digital inclusion, employability and online safety.

What you can expect on the day:

  • A first look at the Joint Virtual Learning & Online Collaboration Curriculum developed and piloted across the consortium, and the methodology behind the five Virtual Exchange Circles that put it into practice with real groups of students and young people.
  • A showcase of the Digital Skills Hackathon, with winning teams presenting their projects live and sharing testimonials, plus short promo videos from the programme's cultural activities.
  • An open panel discussion and live Q&A on virtual exchange as a tool for digital inclusion, employability and online safety - a chance to challenge the results and compare notes with practitioners from other countries.
  • A walkthrough of the project's open-access e-learning platform and the plans in place to keep its courses and materials freely available after the project formally ends.
  • Direct access to the rectors, directors, facilitators and trainers behind the project, in an interactive online format designed for questions and exchange rather than one-way presentations.

The conference is free to attend, fully online, and open to anyone working in or curious about digital skills development, virtual exchange and non-formal education — whether you are exploring virtual exchange for the first time or looking to build on your own institution's experience. A certificate of participation is issued to all attendees.
