International training course on using ETS (Education through sport) for active involvement of young people in society.
Organized by “Bulgarian sports development association”, Bulgaria.
Duration: 01 – 08 of November 2014, Sofia, Bulgaria - 6 full working days activities, 8 days including the travel dates.
Main topic of the content: The main topic of this project is to use “sports as a way of improving active citizenship activities, cultural exchange and social inclusion of young people”. Sport activity has enormous potential of social inclusion thanks to its capacity to bring all the people together, regardless of age, gender or social origin.
Learning objectives:
- To raise knowledge and gain new experiences on Sport and outdoor activities as tools of recognition of non formal learning;
- To clarify the challenges of Sport as a tool for education regarding to content and methodology, non formal and informal learning process, intercultural learning and impact on local community;
- To create a network of professionals (youth leaders, social workers and Trainers) who work with people with fewer opportunities using those new methodologies and ready to develop new E+ projects raising awareness on personal, social and professional development during the work activity;
- To develop the potential for young people within education and employment;
- To straighten the ETS community in Europe and the world.
Working methodology: The working method proposed by the Trainers will start from a wider point of view, macro areas such as values, education and intercultural dialogue through Sport, to the specific activities such as tools and methods to be held during the daily working life in every NGOs or youth centers when you can make the difference for building a civic society (bottom-up process).
Our main methods are:
* Non Formal Education through Sport
* Sport as a tool for social development
The TC will follow the non formal education approach: a combination of different creative and interactive methods will be used by the Trainers team and adapted upon the profile of participants.
The partner organizations for this project are:
Non-profit organizations that promote share European Values, who deals regularly with sport for all and EDS (Education through sport) and have strong transnational dimension in their projects.
The Participants we are looking for:
- Youth /social workers or youth leaders active within their organization;
- Be motivated to develop their competences in intercultural dialogue and Sport;
- Already have experience in working with young people, organizing initiatives and projects;
- Be able to act as a multiplier in our local community, ensuring the snowfall effect;
- Be committed to attend for the full duration of the course;
- Be aged 18+, but preferable 25+
- Competently able to work in English language.
Participants should be from the following countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Spain, Italy, Malta, Romania, Turkey and UK – Scotland.
Financial Aspects:
The training course will take place from 01 till 08 of November 2014 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Financial support has been provided by the Bulgarian National Agency for the “Erasmus +” Program (Key Action 1).
Therefore, “Bulgarian sports development association” will offer the following conditions:
- The travel costs from your home town to the venue will be covered according to the new rules of “Erasmus+” Program;
- Board, lodging, local transports and all materials of the training course will be covered by the Organizer;
- The participants should arrange their own insurance for their travel and stay in Bulgaria;
- A participation fee of 50 Euros is required by each participant, payable at the venue.

If you meet the announced above criteria you are then welcome to send us your application for participation. You can do it online or by e-mail at info@bulsport.bg not later than 01st of September 2014.
After this deadline the project team will not consider anymore your interest to the project.
Please NOTE that:
All participants will be notified by the 07th of September 2014, so the selected participants could start to prepare their trip and participation in the training course. The project team will get in touch with each participant personally!

Bulgarian Sports Development Association was founded in 2010 and is a nonprofit public benefit organization devoted to the development of Bulgarian sport and improving sporting culture in Bulgaria! Our team is young, creative and full of innovative spirit that works for development of Bulgarian sport and enhance the sport culture in Bulgaria with a desire and motivation. BSDA membership is voluntary and the association involve both physical and legal persons who are willing to help sport development with time, ideas, effort or financial support. We also organize different events in the areas of: entepreunership, citizenship and active society. The team of the orgazation consists of professionals from different fields as: sport experts, media specialists, tourism and hospitality, education, marketing and others. We believe that sport should be part of a modern life of children and young people and should create in them values such as motivation, discipline, fair play. Sport is also be a excellent way to prevent many of the problems with young people such as social exclusion, violence, crime and addictions.

Costs
