Online training and coaching of trainers (ToT) on Youth Participation and the Youth Participation Strategy

E-learning

7 September - 7 October 2021 | HOP online learning platform (Online), Estonia

This online international training course is for trainers active in the youth field interested in developing their capacity to support active youth participation and influence in democratic life in line with the Youth Participation Strategy goals.

What is this course about:

The Strategic National Agency Co-operation Project (SNAC)  “New Power in Youth” is a strategic partnership of nine National Agencies and three SALTO Resource Centres which aims to foster youth civic engagement and participation in democratic life. This Training of Trainers supports this aim by empowering and increasing the competencies of trainers on Youth Participation, in the frame of the EU Youth Strategy, the new programme cycle of Erasmus + and European Solidarity Corps, and the Youth Participation Strategy.

The National Agencies involved in SNAC will support and collaborate with trainers participating during the preparation, delivery and follow-up of this training course.

Aim

This educational opportunity in its entirety (online training course with synchronous and asynchronous elements, plus follow-up coaching) will seek to further and systematically carry the provisions of the European Youth Participation Strategy forward especially through the enhancement of the National Strategies for Participation and also through the participants’ future involvement within the (inter)national youth work and training field.

Objectives:

Get a deeper understanding of the European Youth Participation Strategy and its role within the EU Youth Strategy (2019 - 2027) and the European Youth Goals.

Elaborate on, exchange and analyse concepts and practices focused on youth participation, whether in its conventional or ‘alternative’ forms.

Map youth participation challenges and identify further training and support needs.

Develop training concepts and methodologies aiming to improve youth participation within the Programmes (E+: Youth in Action and European Solidarity Corps) and beyond.

Discover future opportunities to support SNAC strategic partnership activities.

Cultivate a culture of collaboration and networking among participants (trainers) to enrich their future work with their respective National Agencies and beyond.

Participants’ profile:

This educational opportunity is best suited for participants who:

● already work as trainers in the youth field locally and/or internationally

● are interested in advancing in the field of youth participation, especially in relation to the Youth Participation Strategy and the Youth Participation Toolkit

● want to or have already established working relations with their National Agency and are ready to take up the mutually agreed commitments to support the development of youth participation activities planned by the respective National Agency

● are committed to participate in all online training activities, that is interactive online meetings (‘webinars’), asynchronous activities on ‘HOP online learning platform’ and follow-up coaching sessions.

Timeline

The introductory, asynchronous activities on ‘HOP online learning platform’ will already be available on the 3rd of September 2021. We expect everyone selected to have seamlessly joined the platform by that date.

Our first interactive online meeting (‘webinar’) will take place on the 7th of September 2021, 10.00-12.00 CEST. The second, will take place on the 9th of September 2021, 10.00-12.00 CEST. Once you are selected, we kindly advise you to book those dates in your agenda.

There will be 3 more interactive online meetings (‘webinars’). Those will happen in the following dates:

16 or 17 of September & 20 or 21 of September & anytime between the 27th and the 30th of September. The exact dates and times of those meetings will be decided together with the selected participants, to better fit their schedules.

The asynchronous online learning activities on ‘HOP’ will be gradually made available and last until the 7th of October 2021. We expect to start the evaluation of the course on that date.

However, this will not be the end of support offered to participants: starting from the end of the course (7th of October 2021) and up to the end of November 2021, the trainers will offer 4 coaching sessions for small groups of participants. Suitable dates and times will be decided between them.
