Lisofi: Li Social Filmaturi / The Social Director

Training Course

13-22 March 2024 | Trapani, Sicily, Italy

Mobility for Youth Workers to empower NGOs, YWs and youth by equipping them with essential video making skills that will allow them to create professional, better designed and targeted videos with equipment they already have (guerilla filmmaking)

The name “LISOFI”
Was created in order to combine different social goals (promotion of the territory and its linguistic heritage: the Sicilian Language) of the applicant : Trailblazers Network Trapani Erasmus Generation APS (from now on TNTEG), with the need of international understanding on the topic through english language, this is why the project has two names:

Li Social Filmaturi / The Social Director

AIM
Empower NGOs, Youth Workers and Youth by equipping them with essential video making/editing skills. That will allow them to create professional, better designed and targeted videos with equipment they already have, so called “GUERILLA FILMMAKING”.

GOALs
Promote NGOs, YWs and Youth: Work, projects, activities, initiatives, etc. Attract partners and volunteers,  Generate impact on important social issues.

METHODOLOGY (non-formal education):
learning by experience and hands-on work,  group work, exchange of experiences and intercultural learning, using digital tools and innovative methods for media literacy education developed by the Trainers, “challenges” and assignments, mentoring and feedback.

During the Youth Training, there are morning & afternoon sessions planned.

  • Mornings are mostly focused on video creation assignments and reflection;
  • Afternoons for input and practice;
  • Evenings may be necessary too for the tasks (but always for extra fun!).

Theree is no need for expensive media equipment, you will be working with your media equipment resources, learning how to create video productions with the same materials that you will be working with back in your local reality.

It is structured in 3 phases:
1. Online Group Phase: January to March 2024
2. Training Course (TC):
13th - 22th March
3. Local Action Phase: March - May 2024

The project is looking for a multiplier effect and an impact in all partner organisations. Therefore all participants will be committed during the 3 phases of our project and will work actively both in them. We seek to invite those participants who are actively engaged in daily activities with youth, motivated to acquire new skills to increase their competence in video making and media literacy, committed to invest the knowledge for the organisation involved or for relevant social initiatives, and to share and promote the results.

In order to ensure that participants with fewer opportunities get the chance to participate in this project, different partners are assigned to support each sending organisation with the inclusion of participants with fewer opportunities if needed. It will be a different organisation depending on the type of obstacles each participant faces.
This will create a project with YWs from all different backgrounds, different ages, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, experiences, and levels of familiarity with video-making, which will be essential to not only bring all different types of approaches to video-making to the table, but also all different types of experiences to the forefront.

Organiser:

Trailblazers Network Trapani Erasmus Generation A.P.S. (Youth NGO)

The Trailblazers of the team started their experiences in the international environment with the amazing Programme Erasmus+ for studying, since 2014.
The Programme Erasmus+ for traineeship enriched their skills, this time with a stronger connection with the working opportunities.
Coming a more mature age, other occasions of personal growth and networking are constantly given by smaller exchanges opportunities, such as Youth Exchanges, Training courses, Seminars, VET formation, etc;
We tried to be the Trailblazers for the Erasmus Student Network Candidate Section of Trapani (ESN Trapani - Candidate Section) but, because of the pandemic, plus some internal issues, this purpose did not work out (at least for now…).

Thanks to the experience collected during the European Solidarity Corps, in the field of project management, the team had the “final kick” to bring international projects to the territory of Trapani, West Sicily.

During the years the team contributed to the development of international mobility providing consultancy and assistance to many institutions and organisations, as well as, through them, to local and international people.

Therefore The Trailblazers Network Trapani Erasmus Generation (A.P.S.: “Association for Social Development”, “Associazione di Promozione Sociale”, registered according to the italian legislation), may seem a young organisation, as it was founded only in 2021, but its team can count on multiple experiences in the field of international projects.

Since the registration on EuLogin portal, in 2021, the organisation and its team are proving themselves in different kind of partnerships and projects at the international level, dealing with the many aspects of the management in a proficient way.
