LIFE COMPASS

Training Course

6-12 August 2026 | Laumas Nature park, Latvia

We aim to focus on personal and professional growth through 8 life areas: health, emotions, relationships, social life, work, finances, personality, and vision, providing practical tools and self-awareness for youth work.

Feeling overwhelmed, out of balance, or searching for direction?

LIFE COMPASS is a transformative training course designed to help you reset, reflect, and realign- both personally and professionally. This training course is designed for youth workers and professionals active in non-formal learning who wish to strengthen both their personal development and their capacity to support young people. The course offers a holistic framework based on 8 key life areas:

  • Health
  • Emotions
  • Relationships
  • Social life
  • Career
  • Finances
  • Personality
  • Vision

Through non-formal education methods such as experiential learning, guided reflection and deep introspection, group work, and practical exercises, participants will explore their own balance across these life areas while gaining tools and methods that can be directly applied in youth work practice. The training creates a safe and supportive learning environment where participants can reflect on their experiences, exchange practices, and develop new approaches to working with young people.

A key element of the course is the co-creation of a digital LIFE COMPASS handbook, which will include methods, exercises, and tools developed and tested during the training. Participants will also be encouraged to transfer their learning into their local contexts by implementing follow-up activities after the course.

Participant profile

The training is designed for 24 participants (are at least 22 years old ) who are actively working with young people in non-formal or formal settings.

We are looking for:

  • Youth workers and youth leaders
  • Educators and teachers
  • Social workers working with young people
  • Volunteers and facilitators in youth organisations
  • Project coordinators and team leaders

Participants should:

  • have experience working with young people
  • be interested in personal development & supporting youth growth
  • be open to experiential, deep introspection and reflection methods
  • be motivated to apply and share the learning after the training

Impact and follow-up

The training is designed to have a practical and long-term impact. During the training, participants will design small activities for their own context. After the training, each participant is expected to implement at least one follow-up activity (e.g. workshop, session with youth, training for colleagues). The project will also result in shared materials and methods that can be reused by partner organisations.

The learning environment will be safe, reflective, and experiential, allowing participants to explore the 8 life areas not only cognitively, but also through personal insight, emotions, and practical application. This approach supports deeper understanding and long-lasting learning.
