Partnership-building Activity

The purpose of the training course "Escape out of the box" is to teach participants the specifics of using the method of non-formal education "Escape rooms". Escape rooms" method of non-formal education;

Objectives

  • to teach participants the specifics of using the informal education method "Escape rooms";
  • participants will design and develop at least 4 games during the project.

What we will do:

  • Explore the method of "Escape rooms";
  • Discover the diversity of this method and the variety of possibilities for its use with different target groups;
  • Gain practical knowledge in preparing various types and formats of "Escape rooms";
  • Learn how to develop 4 full-fledged games and give participants the opportunity to test these games on other participants, as well as youth workers and educators from local communities;
  • Familiarize ourselves with the Erasmus+ program, its learning opportunities;
  • Learn about the platform for collaboration and networking with participants and partners, which we will create during the project.

Course Program:

The course program is intensive and includes 4 sessions daily.

  • Understanding inclusion and disability;
  • Fears and barriers in communication within an inclusive group;
  • Youth programs within the framework of Erasmus+;
  • Youth European Passport YouthPass;
  • Escape rooms - from idea to realization;
  • Tips from experienced mentors;
  • Various methods of non-formal education.

Project Stages:

Stage 1: Training: Tallinn, Estonia, April 20-27, 2024. Participants will learn about escape room method and its applications in youth work. They will explore different types of escape rooms and develop prototypes of their own games.

Stage 2: Prototype Development: May-October 2024. Participants refine their game prototypes and conduct testing rounds with youth, supported by project trainers and mentors.

Stage 3: Game Testing Meeting: Lisbon, Portugal, November 6-10, 2024, Participants present their final escape room designs and conduct testing rounds. They also explore other non-formal education methods.

Stage 4: Game Design and Presentation, Participants receive funding to design and present their games to local youth workers and educators.

Please note that participation in all stages of the project is mandatory when applying.

We want to attract Russian-speaking people, people who find it easier to communicate in Russian, and Russian-speaking communities in these countries to introduce them to the Erasmus+ program.

Accommodation and food

SALTO Participation and Information Resource Centre will organise the accommodation and covers the costs for accommodation and food of the selected participants.

Travel reimbursement

All selected participants will be reimbursed travel expenses in the amount established by the Erasmus+ program rules, strictly within the limit allotted to each participating country and according to the travel option and cost confirmed by the organizers.

Estonia - 20 euro

Germany - 275 euro

Lithuania - 180 euro 

Portugal - 530 euro 

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
