INRUN - European youth Inspiring New RUral Narratives

Training Course

6-12 June 2023 | Rueglio , Italy

INRUN is a training course for youth workers that aims to increase their skills on working with youth on the topic of generating new narratives of the rural world, in particular through the tools of participatory documentary and digital storytelling.

How youth workers could support young peope in generating and inspiring new rural narratives?

INRUN - European youth Inspiring New RUral Narratives is a training course for youth workers that aims to help to transform the negative imagery that exists in Europe on the rural world; moreover, it aims to make it visible to inspire new social models that are more fair, sustainable and supportive. The trainigs intends to contribute to generating and inspiring new narratives (typical of local communities, endogenous and inclusive ones) starting from a collective historical memory and, at the same time, with a look towards the future. We also believe that it is necessary to entrust young people with the task of inspiring these new narratives and, for this reason, we propose an initiative with the following objectives:

  • to train a group of youth workers on how to generate new narratives of rural areas in Europe together with young people;
  • experimenting with the tools of participatory documentary and digital storytelling in working with young people;
  • create and strengthen a network of youth workers who, even after the end of the project, support each other and exchange experiences and information on youth work.

INRUN is a 7 days training for youth workers (6th-12th of June)

Arrivals: 5th of June, before dinner

Departures: 13th of June, after breakfast

Particpants from Italy, Poland, Denmark, Estonia, Portugal and Spain.

What are we going to experience together?

  • 1 practical workshop on how to use the participatory documentary and digital storytelling as a tool for generating new rural narratives
  • Several opportunities to share and create new non-formal educational tools to use in youth work
  • Visits to agroecological local experiences and meetings with local community
  • Informal moments in nature context in order to share experiences and build new networks

  • Collective production of 4 videos and 1 guide for youth workers on participatory documentary that will be presented in an important summer film festival on environmental and sustainability issues (Cinemambiente), with a live streaming open to all interested youth workers in Europe
