Training Course

14-17 October 2014 | Krępa, Poland

If you are a leader or youth worker and you want to use outdoor education as a tool in youth development programs – this workshop is for you!
Objectives of the training course: By the end of the course, the participants will have: • experienced, analyzed and reflected upon experiential learning and outdoor tools as a learning method • Learned to design proper outdoor trainings, how to set a goals, how to facilitate • Developed their leadership skills in a way that supports active participation of youngsters; • Reflected upon and learned models about active citizenship and participation; • Experienced working with an international group of youth leaders and shared their ideas; • Experienced the ideas and aims of the “Outdoors as a tool” network. Content Workshops will be provided in a "learning by doing" method. Participants will participate in many games, exercises and activities. They will learn about the effective application of outdoor methods in training with youngsters, theory and practical ideas. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their practices, discuss issues of their interest, and design future projects. During the final part of workshop, leaders will design and conduct training for youth groups. And will receive coaching and feedback on their work as trainer. Most activities during the course will be held outdoors with the active participation of participants. Participants have to be capable of working in English.

Pracownia Nauki i Przygody (Manufactory of Science and Adventure) is a non-govermental organization founded in 2010. From 2012 we are a foundation. Our goals are very simple: we want to change the world through education. We are inspired by experiental, adventure, outdoor education and moder science comunication. These theories are not very well known in Poland and a few teachers, educators, liders are using methods based on experiental education. We want to change it! We organize trips, workshops and projects for youth and adults.

Our biggest projects are a series of 'Meeting the Explorers' - classes for children with experiences of physic, chemical, biological; conference 'Adventure Education' and 'Academy of Adventure Education'.

Our team team consists teachers, tourists, popularizers of science, scouts, sailors and scientists.

Early birds (until 15.08) – 220 euro Regular: 235 euro Price includes: accommodation, meals, training materials, insurance. Travel costs are to be financed by participants. We can help you with travel and accommodation before course.
