26 February - 2 March 2008 | RODEZ (nearest airport: TOULOUSE), France

This training course is organised to enable young people to develop quality in realising an Action 1.2 Transnational Youth Initiative project on the theme of 'social inclusion'.
The objectives -To explore the added value (European dimension) of Transnational Youth Initiative projects for the local community; -To acquire project management and communication competencies for international activities; -To develop understanding of the principles of networking; -To learn about the 'Youth in Action' programme and especially about the quality criteria of Action 1.2; -To share and transfer experiences of activities undertaken in the local community; -To create a space for contact making and finding potential partners for Transnational Youth Initiative projects; -To develop an action plan to realise a Transnational Youth Initiative project. Who can apply? Young people between 18 and 30 involved in local projects related to social inclusion. Furthermore, the following criteria are required: - You are willing to apply for a sub-Action 1.2 Transnational Youth Initiative project after the course; - You are representing an organisation or a group of young people; - You are able to talk and work in English; - You live in any of the 'Youth in Action' Programme Countries: 27 EU countries + Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey. What is it all about? The programme is designed to enable you to develop and realise your Transnational Youth Initiative projects. Such a project should be implemented after the course. Here are some programme elements: - You will get information about the European 'Youth in Action' programme and particularly about sub-Action 1.2 called 'Transnational Youth Initiative projects'. - Project management. You will reflect on current needs in your local community. You will define concrete project ideas to answer those needs. You will set up the first steps development of your Transnational Youth Initiative projects. - Teamwork and Intercultural experiences. You will be given suggestions to work in an international team: decision-making process, division of tasks, and co-operation. - Contact making. You will get to know each other's projects and/or organisations and will share previous experiences and good practices at local or European level. Which methods will be used? The course will be based on the principles and practice of non-formal education taking into account your needs, motivations, and previous experiences. A diversity of working methods will be used: thinking together, brainstorming, creating new ideas, discussions, debates, simulations, etc. You will be supported actively to work on concrete projects. There will be space for regular feedback and evaluations.

Please check with the National Agency of your country whether they intend to send participants to the training course before you apply; see their contact details below. - Hosting costs (accommodation, food, programme activities, local transport) will be covered by the French National Agency.
