Aim of the training is to re-explore and revitalize the role of the digital as a youth work approach, examining the issues and opportunities that the digital world provides.

Aim is to re-explore and revitalize the role of the digital as a youth work approach, examining the issues and opportunities that the digital world provides.

Objectives:

  • to understand how and when to use digital tools in a variety of youth work settings
  • to reflect on the needs of young people in relation to the digital, map the challenges of using digital tools in youth work (ethics, fatigue, mental health, cyber hygiene, privacy and security, participation and engagement) and generate responses;
  • to understand digitalization through different paradigms, (ethics and values, human rights, gender, artificial intelligence etc), its effect on young people and role of young people;
  • to exchange practices of using digital tools in youth work and develop a resource of various tools, methods, guidelines for digitalizing youth work.

XELI is an independent non-profit making organisation that is based in Tbilisi, Georgia. XELI consists of human rights activists, youth workers, educators and professionals working in the field of digital security, privacy, internet freedom. XELI was established with the aim to support research, development, and implementation of projects focused on: Access to the internet; Privacy; Digital Rights; Diversity and inclusivity of voice; Transparency and Accountability Advocate Internet Freedom. The main target group of the organization are youth leaders, human rights defenders and activists. XELI focuses on addressing how data and digital technologies impact human rights, social justice, power structures and accountability. XELI enhances digital resources including online social communities, educational resources, supportive advocacy content, news and current events. XELI team members work in various digital safety related projects as security consultants and experts.

Accommodation and food

As a member of HREYN, XELI follows its protols.Please get acquainted with the protocol for the participants, staff, and guests attending the physical meetings or activities of HREYN during the sanitary crisis of COVID-19. Attendance at these events means that the individual agrees and takes responsibility to respect the protocol. Link: https://bit.ly/sanitaryprotocol. If you have any special needs, please inform the preparatory team beforehand. The lodging is more dormitory-style, we will have a conference room to work together and other spaces to socialize. Bring towels and personal hygienic utilities.  The meals and accommodation are covered by the Erasmus+ programme.

Travel reimbursement

It’s very important that you plan the journey according to this schedule. If you have difficulties with that, please contact us. At the border, you may be requested to present: travel document, your travel itinerary, travel insurance and invitation letter. Therefore, having an insurance is obligatory, yet, not covered by the project budget. To receive an invitation letter, please, contact the project assistant. You are expected to choose the cheapest route to the venue. To reimburse your travel we need two kinds of proof: 1. the proof that you really travelled (tickets or type of travel documents); 2. the proof of payment - invoice with receipt or bank state- ment. You may be requested to translate the documents in English. Failure to present the documents may result in not getting the reimbursement.
